Where Did "Follow the Prophet" come from?

Where did the term, "Follow the Prophet", come from?

The pattern was set when Jesus said, "Come follow me."

Jesus said, "If ye love me, keep my commandments."  This has a "follow the prophet" connotation or ring to it.  Jesus was the PROPHET of Prophets.  Jesus was and is THE PROPHET.

If you want to go back further, Joshua (whose name is a form of Jehovah) said, "Choose you this day whom ye will serve (follow), but as for me and my house, we will serve (follow) the Lord."

If you want to go all the way back to the beginning, during our First Estate or our Pre-mortal Life, God the Father, Christ Jehovah, and the Holy Ghost said to you and me, "Come follow us", and we did.

We got where we are now by following THE PROPHET.  And, we will get to the Highest Degree in Heaven by following the Prophets and THE PROPHET there as well.  Following the Prophets is the only way to achieve Eternal Life and Eternal Progression.  There is no other way.  The path is narrow and straight, and few there be that find it.
